Established in 2009 and headquartered at the icipe campus in Nairobi, Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) is a Pan-African not-for-profit organization dedicated to alleviating poverty and enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. Background
Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) and the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) are organizing a workshop under the Catalysing Agroecology Transitions in Africa (CATA) Project, funded by the European Union (EU) through the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) under the CAADP-XP4 programme, and co-implemented by AU EOAI and FARA. This workshop will provide a platform for Regional Economic Communities (RECs) to exchange experiences, assess current levels of agroecology integration within their regional frameworks, identify capacity gaps and opportunities, and develop practical roadmaps for incorporating agroecological approaches into Regional Agrifood Systems Investment Plans (RASIPs).
Purpose of assignment
The workshop will bring together representatives from five Regional Economic Communities (RECs) across Africa. As English and French are the official working languages, the translator will provide accurate, clear, and timely interpretation in both directions. This support will enable all participants to engage fully in the discussions and deliberations, helping the workshop achieve its intended objectives.
Scope of Work
Provide comprehensive English –French and French – English interpretation services throughout the workshop, from 28 September to 2 October 2026. Services will cover each workshop day from the opening session to the close of proceedings and will include supplying all necessary interpretation equipment, supporting presenters, and assisting participants to engage fully in all sessions.

Qualifications
The service provider should have experience in offering language translation services in high-level conferences, between English and French. The provider should have a basic understanding of key terms and terminologies used in agroecology/agriculture and policy context. The service provider should have all the required translation equipment/tools.
