Prof. Judy Wakhungu is Cabinet Secretary (Minister) Environment, Water and Natural Resources. Previously she was the Executive Director of the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS). She is a holder of PhD in Energy Resource Management (1993) from Penn State University; an MSc in Petroleum Geology (1986) from Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada and a BSc. in Geology (1983) from St. Lawrence University, New York. Prof. Wakhungu has over 20 years’ research and teaching experience in the areas of Energy Policy and Development; Science, Technology, Public Policy & Development; and Gender issues in Science & Technology Policy. She is also Energy Advisor to the Energy Sector Management Program of the World Bank and Advisor at the Legatum Centre at MIT. She is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Management of Social Transformation Programme.
