About Graduate Internship programme at Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT)

BvAT has considered the huge challenge the young professionals freshly out of college face in their debut employment search when work experience is usually required and would like to contribute to bridging this crucial gap.

Graduates who are within their first 6 months of graduation as at the date of application are considered under this type of placement. The program is open to students who graduated in agricultural and related fields. Interns are recruited on a short-term paid (stipend, not salary) work arrangement purposely for career development and gain relevant professional experience. The interns are attached to specific projects or departments within BvAT. Under the placement program, interns are supervised as they gain experience in the real work environment. The internship opportunities are for a minimum of six months and a maximum of 12 months

Recruitment of Interns

BvAT will recruit interns on the basis of available vacancies based on identified needs and opportunities for mentorship for the students. The interns may come from national and international institutions.

No persons will be discriminated against under the internship programme on the basis of race, colour, creed, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, marital status, political persuasion, disability or other factors which are non-work related. Recruitment of interns shall only take place when:

  • The positions have been confirmed by the BvAT management.
  • The positions are catered for in the in the annual budget of the respective department /projects.
  • Job specifications of the interns positions have been drawn up and approved by the project/programme lead.
  • The above conditions have been met and approved by the Executive Director.

Requirements

  •  Graduate who is within his/her first 6 months of graduation as at the date of application
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Driven and hard-working
  • Ability to take direction
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
