About Biovision Africa Trust
Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) is a not-for-profit organization established in Kenya in 2009 by the Biovision Foundation for ecological development in Switzerland and
supported by the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology icipe in Nairobi. The Trust’s goal is to alleviate poverty and improve the livelihoods of
smallholder farmers in Kenya and other African countries through supporting dissemination of information and knowledge on appropriate technologies to improve
human, animal, plant, and environmental health. To achieve this, BvAT has three broad programmes through which the mission is unfolded. The Farmer Communication Programme (FCP), the Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA) Projects and Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture (KCOA). FCP has four (4) pathways through which ESA technologies and practices are disseminated over the Print (The Organic Farmer and Mkulima Mbunifu Magazines), the Radio (The Organic Farmer Radio), Online (Infonet) and the Outreach to reach smallholder farmers.
About the assignment
BvAT is producing a documentary to mark the World Food Day under the theme ‘Right to Foods, for a Better Life and a Better Future’. The purpose of the documentary is to highlight how various sector players are contributing to the theme of the World Food Day.
Scope of work
BvAT would like to contract the services of a Voice Over Artist to produce voice over narration for a 30 mins video documentary.
The responsibility of the voice over artist will be:
- Familiarize with the script to get the flow of the documentary.
- Voice the provided script in English and edit the audio ready for laying on the video edit.
BvAT will provide the Voice Over Artist with an editing script, however he/she will support the creative story-telling process.
Consultancy period
The production of the Voice Over should be done within 1 week.
Deliverable
At the end of the project, the voice over artist will be required to provide:
- Two fully produced voice over audio as per the provided script in both Mp3 and WAV formats i.e working draft and the final clean VO.
Qualifications:
- Perfect diction.
- Outstanding tone modulation and voice intensity.
- Experience in adaptation of the rhythm of speech.
- Minimum three years’ experience carrying out similar projects with NGOs and especially agriculture NGOs.
- Professional work ethic, integrity, and initiative.
Terms of payment
The fee and the exact terms of payment will be negotiated with the consultant before signing of the contract.

- A minimum of three samples of recent work: online portfolios and links to voice over work is a must.
