Kenya is Hosting the 1st Eastern Africa AgroEcology Conference that is running in Nairobi from March 21st to March 24th towards the realisation of Sustainable Food Production Systems for environmental and socio-economic development.
The conference brings together participants from across the world to review interventions geared towards ensuring adoption of agricultural practices that are responsive to safe environmental practices and ensure safety in Human Health. The conference comes at the backdrop of ravaging drought and seismic weather conditions that are threatening to destabilise the ecosystems across the world.
The conference is led by players within the Agro-ecology sector under the Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA) umbrella.
This is the first event of its kind in the Eastern Africa Regional Economic bloc.
This conference aims to invoke consciousness and motivate regional and continental communities to dialogue how to invest in interventions which can ameliorate the negative impacts of the current unsustainable food systems by transitioning towards more environmentally friendly solutions with long-term vision and planning.
The conference includes exhibitions, plenary and breakout sessions as well as field excursions to agroecological enterprises.
