The Knowledge Hub for Organic Agriculture in Eastern Africa (KHEA) recently organised a three-day regional write shop to develop a regional trainers manual for training farmers on different aspects of agroecology. The writeshop was held from 12th to 14th of July 2023 at Sports View Hotel in Kenya.
The objective of the workshop was to consolidate training materials from KHEA Master Trainers into a Regional Trainer’s Manual for the multipliers under the Knowledge Hub for Organic Agriculture in Eastern Africa (KHEA). The writeshop brought together master trainer representatives from participating countries – Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda and the KHEA management team led by Mr. Francis Nsanga the KHEA Project Manager.
The write-shop was therefore a culmination of country-specific assignments’ consolidation into one – reviewing and compiling them. The team spent the three days presenting work from each country and picking suitable content for the regional manual. The write-shop yielded draft one of the manual.
Draft one from the write shop will undergo other steps to improve it further and finally produce a final validated regional trainers’ manual for the hub. This manual will go a long way in improving service delivery among the multipliers. It will provide them with a step-by-step process and key considerations when planning and executing trainings for farmers. With this, KHEA expects to see more content dissemination and adoption of EOA technologies.
The write shop was organised by Biovision Africa Trust the lead coordinating agency of the project in partnership with PELUM Uganda the Co-Host of the project.
