The Members Forum is composed of all institutions that formally engage in TPP projects\, are active in the TPP’s science-policy or sciencedevelopment interface\, are represented in the governance and advisory bodies or have submitted an application form and agree to the membership charter. In addition to institutional\nmembers\, individuals participating in the TPP’s Community of Practice are warmly welcomed to contribute to the annual meeting. \n\nThe overarching goal of the Annual Members Forum Meeting is to foster a safe and inclusive environment to facilitate meaningful – and critical – reflections on the functioning and progress of\nthe Agroecology TPP so far. We aim to assess key achievements\, identify successful strategies\, pinpoint challenges – as well as their underlying causes – and determine priorities for the future\non what we should continue on doing and what\, instead\, we should do differently. DESCRIPTION:Theme:\n\n\nStrengthening Resilient and Sustainable Food Systems in Africa through Organic Agriculture\n\nThe African Organic Network (AfrONet)\, an umbrella body of organic agriculture actors in Africa representing the National and Regional Organic Agriculture Movements (NOAMs/ROAMs) is organizing the 5th African Organic Conference (AOC) in Kigali\, Rwanda for four (4) days from December 12 – 15\, 2023 in collaboration with the organic agriculture actors in Africa\, the African Union Commission and other strategic organizations outside Africa. The event shall be concluded with the General Assembly of the Network. \nThe AOC is held every 3 years. The 4th AOC was held in November 2018 at Sally\, Senegal. The 3rd AOC was held in Lagos\, Nigeria in October 2015. The 2nd AOC was in Lusaka\, Zambia in May 2012 while the 1st AOC was held in Kampala\, Uganda in 2009. The 5th AOC (5AOC) which was scheduled to be held in Marrakesh\, Morocco in November 2021\, could not be convened due to circumstances beyond our control. Enforcing the resolution of the 4th AOC\, the Board of AfrONet gave Rwanda Organic Agriculture Movement (ROAM)\, as a run-up to FIMABio of Morocco to host the 5th AOC. At an Extraordinary virtual General Assembly of AfrONet members in March 2023\, the 5th AOC was rescheduled to hold in Kigali\, Rwanda from 12 – 15 December 2023. DESCRIPTION:As one of the key Agroecology stakeholders in Kenya\, we are inviting you to a one day Agroecology workshop next week on Tuesday 18th July 2023\, starting 8.30am at the ICIPE Campus\, Bee health board room. \nThe aim of the workshop is to exchange ideas and perspectives on agroecology (AE) and its adoption and to engage you in a phase of participatory modeling. \nThe workshop has been designed in two main parts: \n\nUndertake discussions on practice of agroecology and its contribution to food nutrition and security\nBuild a concept model for agroecology adaptation for policy influence\n\nThe workshop is part of an  Eastern Africa project that has been awarded to BvAT by the US Department of State at the Africa Union ( USAU) for a period of 1 year. The purpose of this project is to implement activities that will document comprehensive evidence on the contribution of agroecology to nutrition and food security. \nIt is expected that the project will build foundations for engagement with policy makers and influence decisions on investments and mainstreaming of agroecology in the Eastern Africa region. Thus\, NOARA through the 1st AFROREC with the theme – Unfavorable Climate and Food Systems in Africa: Organic and Agroecology Solutions\, shall be providing a platform for multi stakeholders (agencies\, organizations\, civil societies\, projects and individuals) of organic and agroecological research in Africa to showcase their research results/innovations as solutions to stakeholders’ challenges.\nThe conference also aims to create interactive and networking opportunities\, as well as information sharing among the diverse participants of the event. During the three-day event\, there will be interaction among participants through plenary speeches\, research paper presentations\, dialogue of researchers with farmers\, producers and input merchants and policy makers\, journalists\, as well as exhibition of organic products and projects.
